Planning is the most important step in the success of your
website. Here is a summary of the steps we typically take
with our clients in order to launch a successful web site.
Step 1
Initial Consultation: We include a one hour initial
consultation in the price of your website. The consultation
is a brainstorming session where we go through the completed
worksheet and discuss your needs in depth. During that session
we help you to determine who your target market is for the
website and we settle on what the features will be.
Step 2
Additional Consultations (optional): If you need
more time to develop the concept for your site, we can provide
additional consultations at our normal hourly rate of $65
per hour. Sometimes it takes more time to research and plan
before settling on your site features.
Step 3
Proposal: After a solid plan is in place for your
website, we can prepare an accurate proposal for its development.
Step 4
Contract: Once you accept our proposal and sign
our standard web design contract, the deposit noted in the
agreement will get us started on the initial mockup for
your site. A terms and conditions contract is available
in advance upon request.
Step 5
Web Site Content : You will be required to provide
us with all textual content and photographs, unless you
have hired us for copy writing services. It is a good idea
for you to get all of your content ready while we are working
on your mockup, as we will need it in order to complete
the site once the HTML template is created. Please keep
in mind that all content is protected by copyright law and
it is not legal for you to use "borrowed" text
or pictures without first obtaining permission from their
rightful owners.
Step 6
Initial Layout: A mockup of your overall site design
is created based on our initial consultation. After your
approval of the presented mockup and before development
begins you will be presented with a Concept and Design Approval
Form. This must be signed and submitted in order for development
to commence. Any changes made to the overall design of the
site and/or navigation after the Concept and Design Approval
form has been signed will result in a charge of $75.00 per
hour.
Step 7
Web Site Shell-Version: The Shell-Version shows
the graphic design of the site, all the navigation items
fully functional, has all the pages created, without actual
page contents inserted yet. At this stage you will be given
the opportunity to review the design and the navigation
structure and note any errors or omissions that may need
to be corrected. Making major changes to the navigation
or the design at this late time incurs additional time and
expense on our part, and as a result requires you to be
billed for additional time at the rate of $75.00 per hour.
The second payment is normally required at this time for
us to complete the site and prepare it for launch.
Step 8
Web Site Draft-Version: The Draft version has the
page contents (text, graphics, Flash, External Links, etc.)
complete. You will be given the opportunity to go through
the site and prepare a "punch-list" noting any
errors or omissions that may need to be corrected. We will
correct text, substitute graphics, change position of items
on pages, however making major changes to the navigation
or the overall design at this late time incurs additional
time and expense on our part, and as a result requires you
to be billed for additional time at the rate of $75.00 per
hour.
Step 9
Web Site Completion and Launch: Once the site is
complete, tested and we have received your final approval,
we will bill you for the balance due on the project. The
final site will be launched and pages will be submitted
to search engines through a standard submission process.
Please note that the web design contract does not include
any fees associated with search engine submissions or with
a detailed and specially focused search engine submission
process.
Step 10
Web Site Marketing: Once the site is launched,
there are several different approaches to marketing the
website to improve its success on the Internet. We have
a number of alternatives we can recommend, depending on
your needs, urgency for results, budget and preferences.
We will be happy to discuss these with you at your convenience.
