This quote sheet combined with our initial consultation will
provide information for the proposal process as well as assist
us in planning your site. Below are examples of questions
that are taken into consideration to provide you with a website
that will bring your business results and will make the process
run smoothly.
Is this a web site redesign or a new site?
Purpose of the Web Site:
Please take some time to consider what your reasons are
for wanting a web site. What do you hope to accomplish by
having a web site? What is its purpose? Some examples are:
- To give my company a cutting edge appearance
- To keep up with the times
- To develop a marketing database
- To sell products and services online
- To have prospective clients contact us
- To give out information
- To market literature we write
- To provide free information and downloads
- To create brand recognition
Target Audience
- Who do you hope will visit your site?
- What do you know about your potential visitors?
- Are they computer savvy?
- Do they use newer computers and browsers?
- What are the demographics of these potential visitors?
Domain Name
- Do you currently have a domain name? Example: www.mysite.com
- If yes, do you have all of the information needed in
order to make changes to your domain record?
- If you do not have a domain name do you have some desired
names?
- If no, would you like us to register your URL?
Company Identity
- Do you currently have an official logo
- If yes, do you have access to the original files from
the original designer of the logo? (This is important
for the quality of the logo on your web site.)
- Do you need us to design your logo?
Web Design Preference
- Preferred Font Type: Verdana or Arial?
- Preferred Web site Colors
- Do you have photos to use on your web site?
- Are you in need of photography services for your website?
We can assist you in choosing royalty free stock photography
from several vendors. However, time spent choosing photos
is outside of the web design contract and is billed at $50
per hour. Cost of stock photos is also not included in the
web design contract.
Note: photos, drawings, paintings, clip art, maps etc.,
textual content from brochures etc. are protected by copyright
law. It is your responsibility to make sure that you have
been granted proper permission to use these on your web
site.
Navigation Style
Navigation refers to the type of menus your web site will
use for visitors to move from page to page………
- Do you have a preference for navigation on your site?
Example: side menu with text, top menu with buttons, slide
out menus, etc.
Other Functionality:
What other functionality does your web site need to have?
- Examples: Forms, guest book, online chat, message board,
pop up windows, PDF documents, shopping cart, database,
photo tour?
- Do you want a contact form or just a contact page listing?
(E-mail addresses, Addresses and Phone Numbers)
Search Engine Submission:
Will you need us to submit your web site to search engines?
The most important engines are: Yahoo, Google, Overture,
Looksmart, Altavista, Excite, Open Directory, Lycos, MSN.
(search engine submission fees not included in web design
contract) Please list any other search engines or directories
that you would like your site submitted to.
Web Hosting:
Should we setup hosting?
If You Already Have Web Hosting:
Do you have the FTP information (Login Name and Password)
?
Budget:
- What is your web site budget?
- What is your promotion budget?
Miscellaneous Questions:
- What are some sites that you like. These do not have to
be sites in your industry, just sites that you like for
the design, look and feel, or navigation style.
- Have you seen your competitor's sites?
- What is your timeframe for completion?
- Have you designated a person within your company who can meet the demands
of writing the content and furnishing content in a timely
manner in order to meet the completion deadline?
- Will you require ongoing web site maintenance?
